Marie “Cookie” Konsez, age 69, of Clio died Thursday, February 18, 2016. A Celebration of Life service will take place Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp; Rev. Fr. Gordon Reigle with burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint. Cookie’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to a charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Marie “Cookie” was born November 15, 1946, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Edward and Steva (Cap) Mucha. She graduated from Flushing High School, Class of 1964. She married John Konsez on February 5, 1966, at St. Roberts Catholic Church in Flushing. Cookie worked as a receptionist for Ultimate Visions Unisex Salon in Flushing for over 20 years. In her free time, Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren, and cooking Sunday dinners. Left to cherish her memory, her husband, John Konsez; two sons: John and wife, Amy Konsez, and Jeff Konsez; five grandchildren: Cora, Brianna, Casey, Alicia and Sean; great-granddaughter, Ava; her sister, Jennie and husband, Gary Grab, and two brothers: Edward and wife, Debbie Mucha and Tony and wife, Jane Mucha; and many other family members and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her uncle Leo.
