Margery Moran

Age 101, of Mt. Morris, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Maple Woods Manor. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Friday, February 14, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris; Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau officiating with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Margery's family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Thursday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. On Thursday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Friday morning, Margery will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of funeral mass at 11:00 am. Morris, on November 21, 1918, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Matilda (Kriener) Slattery. Margery graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School with the Class of 1936. She married the love of her life, Charles F. Moran on May 11, 1946. Together their union would be blessed with nine children, and Reno Palomo as a member of their family. Sadly, Charles preceded her in death on May 30, 1978. Margery loved spending time with her family and friends - especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, completing word searches, and playing cards. She was known for her infectious laugh, warmth, and a loving heart that always welcomed everyone into her home. Left to cherish her memory are her children: William Moran, Lawrence, and wife Elizabeth, Charlene, and husband Carruthers Glasgow, Sheila, and husband Carl Thomas, Reno, and wife Ann Palomo, Bridget, and husband Charles Slovak, Kathleen and husband, Larry Hoon, and Mary Jo, and husband Christopher Robberstad; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives, and friends. Margery was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles; two sons: Patrick and Michael; and her grandson Alexander.
