Of Mt. Morris, age 84, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at home. The funeral service will take place, 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Lymen was born August 23, 1926 in Louisville, Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hobert and Ida Tipton. He and Frances Bramlett were united in marriage February 2, 1994, in Aiken, South Carolina. Lymen served 26 years in the United States Army, retiring March 2, 1972, as a First Sergeant. He proudly served his country in three wars, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After retirement, he worked in airport security in Georgia. Lymen leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Frances, several children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Oscar Tipton, and Hugh and wife Mary Tipton, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vivian, two brothers, and three sisters.
