Age 74, of Genesee, passed away November 7, 2024, at the Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System. In accordance with Logan’s wishes, cremation has taken place; with the burial to take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, at a later date.
Logan was born on March 29, 1950, in Flint, he is the son of Clyde Walter and Mary Josephine (Vrsek) Werth. Educated locally, Logan graduated from Genesee High School with the class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, Logan would heed his call of duty, by enlisting in the United States Army on October 2, 1969. During his time in Vietnam, Specialist Logan, was a part of a Motor Transport Team, where he earned his National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Marksman with the M-14, Sharpshooter with the M-16, and a Vietnam Service Medal. Logan received his honorable discharge on August 31, 1971. Upon returning to civilian life, Logan enjoyed restoring old, classic vehicles, including many of a military nature. His major accomplishment in this area was designing and building, with the help of some fellow craftsmen and dear friends, a full-size replica of the gun truck he served on in Vietnam, “Uncle Meat”. He toured a lot of the country with his gun truck, sharing its history with many people, while at the same time renewing old and establishing new military friendships along the way. Logan also built a pole barn to house his restored vehicles and Uncle Meat. It was no ordinary pole barn it was a museum to house his many collectables. Logan was a “picker” at heart and loved to collect various things by shopping online or at various antique shops in the area.
In his latter years Logan became a Christian and deepened his faith and love in God. Much of this was expressed by his generosity with many individuals he encountered during his life journey.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Logan Clyde; grandchildren Lydia and Luke Werth of Georgia; brother Norman of Columbiaville, sister Dolores (Douglas) Herzog of Grand Blanc; and dear friends Dave Rose, Ray Strasser, Jerry Cech, Todd Sorensen, Sister Ellen, and many others too numerous to mention here.
Logan was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Walter Werth and Mary Josephine (Vrsek) Werth.
A special thank you to his caregivers Leona and Keri.
