Lillian Mcguire

Lillian Ruth McGuire, age 90, of Chesaning, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Chesaning Comfort Care. The funeral will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Randy Schultz will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Cody Greger All Sports Scholarship Fund. Lillian was born April 6, 1928, in Bay City, Michigan. She is the daughter of the late Leonard Jon and the late Amelia (Rodau) Meyer. She married John McGuire on December 27, 1945, in Bay City. Lillian Graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1945 and Moved to Mt. Morris in 1957. She then worked as a Secretary, in Retail, and as a Grocer. Lillian was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she spent many hours doing volunteer work. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, reading, and bird watching. She will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Diane and husband, Larry Simmonds; sons: John McGuire, Jim, and wife, Cindy McGuire, Tim and wife, Mary McGuire; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister: Dorothy and husband, Richard Miller; and a brother: Lawrence and wife, Valerie Meyer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, John McGuire, son, Jeffery McGuire, great-grandson, Cody, father, Leonard Jon Meyer, mother, Amelia Rodau, two brothers, Edward Meyer and John Meyer and sister, Ruth Meyer.
