Letta King (Stiehl)

Age 89, of Genesee Township, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Maple Woods Manor of Clio. Per her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Genesee Twp. Pastor Leonard Lason to officiate with a private burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Senior Center, 3065 N.Genesee Rd., Flint, Michigan, 48506 or a charity of your choice. Letta’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Maplewood Manor for their care & dedication. Letta was born May 30, 1926 in Flushing to the late Mr. & Mrs. Henry and Goldie (Keeler) Stiehl. Because of family hardships, Letta was later adopted by Dr. George and Letta Logan. Letta graduated from Flushing High School, class of 1944, and then went on to U of M to become a Cytologist. She worked at F.O.H, Flint Medical Lab, and Clare Hospital. She married Harry King in June of 1945, sadly he preceded her in death in 2000. They enjoyed golfing, traveling, square dancing, camping, and spending time at the lake in Weidman with the family. Letta also enjoyed spending time at the Eastside Senior Center and playing cards with her friends. Left to cherish Letta’s memory are her son, Rick King and significant other, Alice Richardson; daughter-in-law, Mary King; four grandchildren: Sean and wife, Michelle King, Barbara and husband, Hank Rodgers, Shannon and husband, Todd Thompson, and Dana and husband, Chris Young; Seven great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry King; son, Ron King in 2013; two brothers; four sisters.
