Lavern Noyce

Age 71 of Vassar, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral service will take place 10:45 am, Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Vassar Church of the Nazarene, Pastor David Wermuth will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Thursday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Friday, LaVern will be taken to church to lie in State from 9:30 am until time of service at 10:45 am. Memorial donations may be directed to Vassar Church of the Nazarene or MDA. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or church. LaVern was born in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Miles and Dora (Harrington) Noyce. He and Linda Goff were united in marriage on June 6, 1964. He worked for Super Foods for 29 years, retiring in 2000. LaVern was an active member of Vassar Church of the Nazarene where he served as a greeter and usher. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Linda; three sons, David, Douglas, and Daniel and wife, LeeAndrea; six grandchildren, Johnathon and wife, Misty, Chrystal, Christopher, D.J., Rebecca, and Lucas; three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Maci, and Kaden; sister, Nancy and husband, Duane Rose; two brothers, Robert and wife, Mary Ann Noyce and Duane and wife, Angie Noyce and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Stephany Jo Ann.
