Kurt James Sherwood

Kurt James Sherwood, Age 84, of Clio, died on July 25, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. In accordance with Kurt's wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Kurt’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.

Kurt J. Sherwood was born on December 1, 1939, in Holly, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel J. Sherwood and Mildred Peek. He attended Beecher High School and graduated in 1959. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959 and served 4 years with an honorable discharge. After returning home to Michigan, he married his high school sweetheart, Dawn O’Connor. After just one dance with Dawn, he decided he was going to marry her. He was hired at Factory 12 Metal Fab at Buick City. After working in every department, he retired in 1997. After retiring, Kurt became a Master Gardener and was a Master Carver, and long-time member of the Frankenmuth Woodcarver’s Club. He was also a member of the Columbiaville Muzzleloading Gun Club.

Left to cherish Kurt’s memory are his three children; Daniel and wife, Mariana; and 2 daughters: Raven and Gabrielle, Jan and wife, Susan Rayeski, Kurt A. and wife, Jennifer and two sons: Joshua and Lance, great-grandchildren: Khloe, Layne, Weston, and Liam; two sisters: Maureen VanNorman and wife, Sherry and Linda Edwards and husband, Joe; two nieces Laina and Kayle.

Kurt is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Dawn.
