Kenneth was born in Flint, on October 22, 1950, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Doris (Frownfelter) King. Educated locally, Kenneth graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1968. After graduation, Kenneth began his career at General Motors Buick, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement. In 1976, Kenneth met Georgana Folaron, a trainee assigned to him at General Motors. They became the best of friends during their time working together. It wasn’t until many years later the two would fall in love and were united in marriage on August 12, 2000. Kenneth was known as “The Kenny King” to many people, even those he did not personally know. Kenneth had a passion for vintage cars. He built his 1933 Coupe from the ground up. He was proud to say he taught his children and grandchildren how to change a tire and oil in a vehicle. He often stated they should not have to depend on anyone for those things. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing up north in St. Helen, as well as taking his boat out on the water. He was a very gifted handyman, even building the family home. Kenneth was an avid reader, who owned hundreds of books and would often read three or four books at a time. He was great at trivia and knew something about everything. He called it useless knowledge, but he has taught his family and friends so much they will never forget. Kenneth was a wonderful father and went as far as to take ballroom dancing lessons so he could dance with his daughter at her wedding. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Kenneth’s memory are his beloved wife of 24 years, Georgana King; children: Chad and wife, Pam King, Nancy and husband, Rob Manchester, Joe and wife, Andrea Potter, Tony and wife, Pam Potter, Amie Colley; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings: Dawn Cronin and Kelly and wife, Renae King; four nieces and one nephew; lifelong friend, Doug Blandford; favorite ex-wife, Terry King.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; daughters: Lydia Creen and Rhonda Poston; and nephew, Steven Cronin.
