Kathy Marcou

Age 69, of Burton, died Monday, October 21, 2019, at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 pm, Friday, October 25, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services in Mount Morris, Reverend Bruce Badder, to officiate. Kathy’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Friday morning from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Kathy was born, February 15, 1950, in Frankfort, Michigan the daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Norman and Phyllis (Gilbert) Stewart. Educated locally, Kathy graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1968. During high school, Kathy met the love of her life, James Marcou. The two high school sweethearts would go on to marry the year of their graduation in 1968. Their beautiful union bore two children. Kathy and James were married for thirty- one years until his death on December 19, 1999. A devoted wife and mother, Kathy was also an esteemed Tupperware saleswoman heading up the Bluebird unit of Tupperware for 25 years. Kathy loved to be active. She could be found hunting for morel mushrooms with her grandaughters, hunting for rocks, and going Up North. While Up North, she could be found enjoying the scenic beaches and lakes, in the summertime, or snowshoeing in the winter. Kathy was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #64. She was a bright light that was dimmed far too soon. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amy and husband, Matt Makuch; son, James Douglas Marcou II, and special friend Lanette Robinson; grandchildren: Kerstin and fiance, Nathan, Tyler and fiancee, Bethanie, Matthew, and Isabella “Bella;” great-grandchild, Ayra; sisters: Lynne Stewart, Cheryl and husband, Timothy Brown, and Patricia and husband Ronald Konieczka; brothers: Lee and wife, Robin Stewart, and Brian and wife Debbie Stewart; beloved dog, Buddha; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and movie partner and life long friend, Susan Ramlow. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and mother and father-in-law, Leo and Leona Marcou.
