Age 70, of Millington, Michigan, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate with cremation to follow. Karen’s family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. On Wednesday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather at the funeral home to Pray the Rosary at 5:30 pm. Following the rosary, the family will have an open mic remembering Karen’s life. On Thursday morning, Karen will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions in Karen’s memory to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Karen was born December 7, 1946, in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Lenus and Geraldine (Gibson) St. Pierre. Educated locally, she would go on to graduate from St. Michael Catholic School in Flint, Michigan. Karen and Joe were united in marriage on November 27, 1968, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint. Taking care of her family was the focus of Karen’s life. From taking the kids and grandkids to and from St. Mary’s, to family dinners and getaways to the family cabin at White’s Beach in Standish. Most of her time was spent with her family creating memories and traditions. Her macaroni salad, pineapple upside down cake, and chicken and dumplings recipes were very well known. When she did find a moment or two for herself, Karen could often be found reading, putting a puzzle together, listening to Motown music, bird watching and watching her favorite TV shows. Her love of family, friends, and tradition was demonstrated by the life she lived. Her legacy will be carried through her children and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are, her “Love Bugs” husband of 49 years, Joe White, four children, JB and wife Jennifer White, Kasie Marie Nickel-White, Justin B. White and Joshua B. and wife Melissa White, 11 grandchildren, Hayden, Deven, McCullen, Jordyn, Vanessa, Keegan, Tucker, Bella, Hudson, Reid and Ruby, brother, Patrick and wife, Anne St. Pierre, of Florida sister, Marcia and husband, Deacon Rod Amon of Swartz Creek and special friend, Linda Lutze and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law, Charles and Berneitas White and sister, Joyce (St. Pierre) Petronio. The family would like to extend a special acknowledgment to Emil (Rock) and Claudia Petronio and family. They would also like to send special thanks to Wellspring Hospice.
