She and Wayne Lintz were united in marriage on November 29, 1968, at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Redford Twp. Judy received her bachelor’s degree in special education from Central Michigan University in 1969. From there, she would continue her education receiving a master’s degree from Marygrove College. She was a special education teacher for thirty-three years, mostly at Pinehurst Elementary School. She also spent two years in The Hague, Netherlands, until her retirement in 2003. Throughout her life, Judy was actively involved in the Special Olympics, where she was a coordinator and coach for Genesee County’s Area 13 team. Judy was a volunteer announcer for Mt. Morris’ High School track and field team and was fondly referred to as “The Voice of Mt. Morris Track.” In her free time, she also enjoyed playing frisbee golf, traveling, knitting, and volunteering for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief; Judy volunteered during sixteen natural disasters throughout her life and enjoyed helping others. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Wayne Lintz; her two sons: Andy and wife, Kathy Lintz, and Adam Lintz; two grandchildren: Andrea and Cameron Lintz; brothers: Jim and wife, Helen Scane, and Jerry and wife, Maureen Scane; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lyllian; and her parents-in-law: Lee W. and Victoria Lintz. Judy’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Cranberry Park Memory in Clio, Victoria Kelly and the staff at Victoria’s House, Heartland Hospice, and especially Shar, Sandy, Randall, and CeCe for all their compassion and care.
