Of Flint, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am, Friday, March 27, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Gary McInnis will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township on Thursday, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Thursday evening, family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. On Friday morning, Juan will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Juan was born in Harlingen, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isabel and Concepcion (Herrera) Rodriguez. He came to Flint in the 1950's with his brother, to begin a career with General Motors. He spent 30 years working for GM Truck and Bus, retiring in 1980. Juan and Rachel Delacruz were united in marriage on January 10, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan. Juan enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and working on his 57 Chevy. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and the UAW # 659. Left to cherish his memory are four children, Robert Rueda and wife, Sheila Mae Thorn-Rueda, Concepcion and husband, Jon Norman, Maria Hiteshew, and John Rodriguez; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rachel; son-in-law, Barry Hiteshew; two brothers, Felix and Isabel Rodriguez; and great-grandson, Shawn. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Juan's neighbors, McLaren Hospice and Dr. Wilfredo Rivera for the care given to their dad.
