Joy Cardis

Of Fairgrove, age 71, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Martin Funeral Home - Fairgrove. Rev. Daniel Gonder will officiate with burial to follow in Gilford Cemetery. JoyAaas family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2:00pm until 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers please direct memorial contributions to The Gideons International, or Charity of Choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Joy was born January 27, 1938 in Caro, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber and Adaline (Hill) Jones. She and Gayre Lee Cardis were united in marriage November 26, 1959. She had a love for music, enjoyed playing the piano, singing, reading, and crossword puzzles. Joy leaves to cherish her memory husband, Gayre; two children, Audrey (Dale)Marker, and Laura (Jeff) Bernia; four grandchildren, Tim and Amanda Marker, Heather and Matthew Bernia; sister-in-law, Ruth Addiss; special friend, Bertha, and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Robert and Lucille Cardis; brother-in-law, Douglas.
