John Shears

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Victory Tabernacle Church. Family will receive friends at the Victory Tabernacle Church 1497 Pine Street in Clio on Tuesday, from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial donation may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the church. John was born February 27, 1956 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Arlene (Clark) Shears. He and Leona Baker were united in marriage on October 14, 1994. John worked for himself as an independent truck driver, before going to work driving Eastern Asphalt, until his retirement. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR and spending time with family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Douglas and Brad Shears, four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary and husband Dan Matzke, Sharon and husband, Roger Stanley, Shirley and husband, Gary Ingram and Rachel and husband, Gary Norris; two step daughters, Kendra and husband Adam Miller and Lisa Cummins; and many nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leona, son John Shears Jr.; daughter Christina (Shears) Cox; sister, Marjorie Cook and three brothers, Charles "Red", Floyd and Richard.
