John Legue

Of Vassar, age 86, passed away Sunday morning, April 29, 2012, at home, with family at his side. A private Life Celebration will take place 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Martin Funeral Home - Vassar. Mr. Roy Volz will officiate with cremation to follow. Family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm. John was born September 1, 1925 in Belaire, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max and Ruth (Shaw) Legue. He and Rose Swaffer were united in marriage August 20, 1949. John proudly served his country during World War II. John leaves his family which includes his wife of 62 years, Rose; four children, Karen and husband, Daniel Hoover, Nancy and husband, Larry Dues, Larry and wife, Tina Legue and Rick Legue; seven grandchildren, Angie and husband, Matt Ayotte, Jennifer and husband, Mike Learned, Jeff and wife, Lori Hoover, Pam and husband, Jamie Garza, Zac Dues and friend, Stacy, Carin Legue and friend, Jake, Tiffanie and husband, Dan Scharff; ten great-grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle Hoover, Molly Learned, Tiff, Paige and Dani Ayotte, Madison, Brittney and Jacob Rapcka and Abigail Scharff; and eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brother. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Advantage and their Staff, with a special thanks to Erica and Bob Rex.
