John "Jack" Noe

July 11, 1921 — December 4, 2014

Age 93, of Flushing, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his home. A Celebration of Jack’s life will take place at 3:00pm, Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Paul Schwermer will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Friday, December 12th, from 11:00am until the time of service at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary’s School, Guardian Angel Fund or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jack was born July 11, 1921 in Mt. Morris the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray and Pearl (Eckheart) Noe. Educated locally at St. Mary’s School, he graduated with the Class of 1939. As a young man, Jack heeded the call of his country, serving with the US Army during World War II, in the European Theatre with the Army Air Corp, 8th Airborne. Upon his return to civilian life, he would marry Betty Dodge in December of 1945 at St. Mary’s. She preceded him in death December 23, 1965. Jack and Elizabeth (Bloomer) Middleditch were united in marriage May 3, 1968 at St. Mary’s. His career path would see him owning the One Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaners in Flushing and he also worked as a supervisor at Wonder Bread for many years. Jack was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Mt. Morris, the Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Council #4285, the American Legion Post #283 Flushing, and had served on the Mt. Morris City Council and Mt. Morris Athletic Boosters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Noe, children, Dennis and wife Tania Noe, Marisue and husband Greg VanGilder, Steve and wife Kathy Middleditch, Brad Middleditch and Michele Thompson, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty, two sisters; Joyce Halpin and Marion Colton and three brothers, William, Thomas and Paul. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Jack.
