Age 87, of Flushing, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev, Carol Blair Bouse will officiate with cremation to follow. Jack’s family will be present to receive friends on Friday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to Carriage Town Ministries or The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jack was born July 20, 1928, in Mt. Morris, Mr. & Mrs. Stanley and Ida (Packer) Jewett. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Hospital Apprentice, First Class. He worked as a Service man for Consumers Energy for 40 years. Jack was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. In Jack’s spare time he enjoyed listening to music, vacationing in Arizona with his life partner, Shirley Deneen, playing golf, watching football, and tinkering with electronics. Left to cherish Jack’s memory, his life partner, Shirley Deneen; one daughter, Chyleen Goold; sister-in-law, Alice Jewett; two grandsons: Mike and Jeff; three great-grandchildren: Ashley, Brittany, and Tyler; many extended family members and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Irving and Marion; one sister-in-law, Kate.
