Joe Hoxsey

Of Flint, age 74, died Monday, February 11, 2013, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A private funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held this Summer. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Joe was born February 24, 1938, in Kirbyville, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton and Nellie (Karr) Hoxsey. He and Joyce Ann Ames were united in marriage July 31, 1960. Joe worked at Durakon as an inspector, until his retirement in 2003. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Joyce; son, Kevin and daughter, Janelle Hipkins; five grandchildren, Amy and Kim Hoxsey, Jill Kitchen, Sarah and husband, David Austin and James Teddy; four great-grandchildren, Kallista, Kaitlyn, Christopher and Caiden; brother, Jerry and wife, Kathy Hoxsey and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jimmy and Josh.
