Joan Pnacek

Joan Petronella (Trzil) Pnacek, age 76, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, July 20, 2018, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Joan’s family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. On Wednesday night, family and friends will gather to pray the Rosary at the funeral home at 6:00 pm. On Thursday, Joan will be taken to lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the ­­­­­­­­­family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home, or at the church. Joan was born in Flint, Michigan on March 22, 1942, to John and Fernette (Belanger) Trzil. Joan and Richard were united in marriage on July 14, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church. She would stay at home to raise their six children. Joan loved spending time going north with her family and going sightseeing. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, canning, and camping. Joan was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church and would volunteer on Bingo nights working in the kitchen. She will be greatly missed by many. Joan is survived by her six children: Michael Pnacek, John and wife Lynda Pnacek, Petronella Pnacek, Christine and husband Frank Hensey, Thomas and wife, Michelle Pnacek and Anthony and wife Victoria Pnacek; six grandchildren: Mike, Joni, Valarie, Jackson, Tommy and Keren; great-granddaughter: Jennavieve; three siblings; Loretta Swanson, Deloris and husband, Mike Lund and John Trzil. Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, parents, and brother, Lawrence Trzil.
