Of Mt. Morris, age 75, died Thursday, May 13, 2010. The funeral service will take place 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Salvation Army Flint Citadel, 211 W. Kearsley St. with Captain Jon Augenstein officiating. Family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on both Sunday and Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Monday evening, a Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted under the auspices of the Morning Star Lodge #556 F. & A.M. at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Lokken will be taken to church to lie in state from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30p.m. On Wednesday morning, family and friends will gather again at 10:00 a.m. at the Miles Martin Funeral Home for procession to Great Lakes National Cemetery for burial with Military Honors at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Salvation Army. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Jerry was born October 6, 1934 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hjalmar and Esther (Aronson) Lokken. He and Juanita Marie Fitzgerald were united in marriage January 7, 1956. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and retired from Flint Metal Fab after 33 years of service in 1989. He was a member of and actively involved in: Masonic Morning Star Lodge #556 F. & A. M., Consistory Valley of Bay City, Elf Khurafeh Shrine Center, several Shrine Clubs including the Tall Shriner Unit and the Shrine Hospital Drivers, Salvation Army Flint Citadel, Boys Scouts of America, VFW Post #4087 - Davison, American Legion Post #0413 - Grand Blanc and the Old News Boys. Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Juanita, two children: Dawn and husband Todd Lendzion, and, Jerry Lokken Jr. and wife Cindy Kurtz, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
