Age 84, of Vassar, died at home on Friday, June 18, 2021, with his family by his side. In accordance with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled. Jim was born in Davison, Michigan, on December 26, 1936, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eurmin Jasper and Deulah (Atkinson) Woolworth. Jim met and married the love of his life, Dawn Jameson, on August 27, 1955, at their home. Jim went to work for General Motors when he was just 18 years old and was able to retire at the young age of 48, with 30 years under his belt as a Die Setter, in 1985. After his retirement, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing on his property in Vassar. He was a very hard worker, and built his own house, clearing the property and digging a pond. One year, he took his dad and wife on a trip across the United States, stopping to visit many places along the way, and was known for wintering in Florida. He was a child of God who taught his children and grandchildren about the Bible. In his free time, Jim enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar, singing, and was known as a funny, handsome, charming man, who shared many wonderful stories. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his loving wife of 65 years, Dawn Woolworth, children: Thomas and wife, Sonja Woolworth, John and wife, Christina Woolworth, Debi and husband, Dennis Huizar; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Edward and wife, Janet Woolworth, and Linda and husband, Francis Nielson; several nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; children: Sandra Kihn, Mark Woolworth, Paul Woolworth; grandson, Michael Woolworth; siblings: Jerry, Don, Wilma, Dorothy, Betty, Beverly, Judy, Marjorie.
