Of Mt. Morris, age 75, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 19, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau officiating. Burial will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors. Family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home Saturday 9am to 9pm, Sunday 9am Aa" 9pm. On Saturday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to for a Scriptural Rosary at 7:00pm. On Sunday evening, family and friends will gather again for a K of C 3rd Degree Memorial Service conducted by the Holy Family Council #4285, followed by a 4th Degree Chalice Ceremony conducted by the Leon Satkowiak 4th Degree Assembly #0524. Monday morning James will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. JudeAaas ChildrenAaas Hospital, American Cancer Society or Special Olympics. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and at church. James was born April 6, 1933 in Flint the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis and Mary (Gielbargo) OAaaBrien. After graduating from Flint Northern High School Class of 1951 James joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He and first wife, Margaret (Davis) were united in marriage March 10, 1956. She preceded him in death in 1996. In 2001, he married Elizabeth Ann Marshall. James retired from the FAA at Flint Bishop Airport. Surviving are wife, Ann OAaaBrien of Mt. Morris; children, Michael and wife Carolyn OAaaBrien of Avon, New York, Tom OAaaBrien, William OAaaBrien, Joan and husband David Sordyl, and John OAaaBrien all of Mt. Morris; stepchildren, Vonda Wilson of Mt. Morris, Virginia and husband Robert Serven of Mt. Morris, Cathy and husband Jim Littell of Flushing, Sue and husband Mike Moore of North Carolina, Donna Boring of Eaton Rapids, grandchildren, Timothy and wife Kelly OAaaBrien, Joseph OAaaBrien and fianceAA Andrea, Benjamin OAaaBrien, Therese OAaaBrien, Michael OAaaBrien and fianceAA Katie, Steven OAaaBrien, Kattie OAaaBrien and fiancAA Eric, Jimmy Sordyl, Joey Sordyl and Joshua Sordyl; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Francis and wife Geri of Flushing, Margaret Keener of Davison, and Mary Ann and husband Hugh Welsh of Flint; Sister- in-law Shirley OAaaBrien of Crete, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Margaret and two brothers, Patrick and Michael.
