James “Jim” Edward Harden, Sr., age 75, of Flint died Saturday, October 8, 2016. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Pattee will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Jim’s family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday October 10, 2016 to receive friends from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm; Wednesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to Beulah Land Christian Center, 3345 S. Genesee Rd, Burton, MI 48519. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. James “Jim” was born August 24, 1941, in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. William Andrew and Lillian Lucille (Duffey) Harden. He married Linda Badour on February 22, 1975, in Flint. Jim worked for General Motors sanitizing equipment for 37 years, retiring in 1996, and was a long time member of UAW local # 326. In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, mowing the lawn, going to church on Sunday, listening to country music, watching TV, and traveling. Left to cherish his memory, wife of 41 years, Linda; five children: Sandra (Don Robinson) Freeman, Angela Harden, James (Annette) Harden, Jr., Roberta Harden, and Ed (Jeep Wrangler) Harden; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; two siblings: Bill (Linda) Hardin, and Shirley Tarbett; special sister-in-law, Patty Webster; and many other family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother John “JD”, sister Mary, father & mother-in-law James (Alberta) Badour, brother-in-law Kenneth Webster, three grandchildren Jennifer, Stephen, and James, III, two great-grandchildren McKenzie, and Makayla, and his boxers.
