Jacinta P. Quintanilla, age 86, of Flint died Saturday, February 7, 2015, at her home. Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 am, Monday, February 9, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Flint, 2316 W. Coldwater Rd. Flint, Michigan 48505. Rev. Fr. Eduardo Lorenzo and Rev. Fr. Gary McInnis con-celebrating with burial to follow on Tuesday, in New Calvary Cemetery. Jacinta’s family will be present to receive friends at church on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Sunday, evening family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Jacinta was born September 11, 1928, in Yorktown, Texas, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Gumecindo and Fernanda (Gonzales) Perez. She and Ricardo Quintanilla were united in marriage on August 12, 1949 in Marianna, Arkansas. Sadly, he preceded her in death on March 12, 2012. Jacinta was one of the founding members the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren; playing Dominoes, word search puzzles, embroidering, gardening, working in the church kitchen and traveling across the United States to visit family. She was also an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Left to cherish her memory, eight children: Anita (Anastasio) Favila, David (Susan) Quintanilla, Ruben Quintanilla, Sylvia (Anthony) Martin, Daniel Quintanilla, Delia (Ronnie) Hock, Reynaldo (Diana) Quintanilla, Rebeca (Brian) Holifield; 36 grandchildren; 44 great- grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; four brothers; two sisters; her dog, Buddy; and many other family members and friends. Jacinta was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 62 years Ricardo, precious first-born Richard “Mijo”, two brothers: Pedro and Gume Perez. The family would like to extend a special thank you to McLaren Hospice and to beloved niece Julia Perez and many other nieces and nephews for all the love they have shown.
