Age 77 of Columbiaville, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at McLaren-Flint, surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park with graveside Military Honors, conducted by American Legion # 158. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Herman was born in Omer, Michigan, on May 30, 1937, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Elizabeth (Schultz) Wolfe. Growing up in the Sterling area he was educated locally. Herman would go on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to civilian life and later went to work at General Motors, Buick Plant 36. He continued there for 32 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the UAW # 599. Herman married Linda Yealey on October 5, 1963, in Sterling, Michigan. He enjoyed fishing, yard work and watching sports. His favorites teams include the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and U of M. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Linda; two children, Herman Wolfe Jr. and Peggy Atwell; three grandchildren, Alexander Cooper, Brittany Cooper and Krystal Roberts; two sisters, Florence Phillips and Mary Hazeltine; two brothers, David Wolfe and Leon Wolfe and several nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and one sister. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the McLaren-Flint CCU Nursing Staff for all the care given to Herman.
