Herman Roberts

March 23, 1925 — June 4, 2008

Of Clio, age 73, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 10:00am, Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Entombment will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Dean's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00am until 8:00pm, Sunday from 12:00 noon until 8:00pm and again on Monday from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:00am. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dean was born March 23, 1935 in Leachville, Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Nanny (Smith) Roberts. He and Patricia Russell were united in marriage on April 3, 1954. Dean worked for Buick for 35 years and was a Union Representative for 27 consecutive years. He was also a member of the Eagles, the Moose Lodge and the Masons. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Cloyce Roberts of Flint, Bill (Sue) Roberts of Mt. Morris, Sally (Marlin) Hatcher of Charlotte, NC, David (Brenda) Roberts of Clearwater, FL, Bruce (Becky) Roberts of Flint and Kelly (Rick Elder) Roberts; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Roberts, John Roberts and Clarence Roberts, all of Michigan and sisters, Dorothy Crouch, Mary Hadley and Wilma (Bob) Milligan, all of Arkansas. Dean is also survived by his very special friend and loving companion, Betty Wilcox. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Patricia and brothers, Pat, J.T., Alvie and Bo. DeanAaas family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. B. Bhagat, Dr. Rao and the entire nursing staff at MRMC.
