Helen Baker

Of Vassar, age 92, died Monday, November 25, 2013, at Frankenmuth Lutheran Home. A private burial has taken place. Helen was born September 26, 1921, in Hanover, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Celia (Knight) Reif. She and Elion W. Baker were united in marriage June 14, 1941. Sadly, he preceded her in death on February 15, 2010. In her free time Helen enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, china painting and cooking. Helen is survived by her two daughters: Janet Sue and husband, Frank Going of Grand Rapids, and Marjorie Baker of Vassar; four grandchildren, Brian and wife, Janine Going, Audra Sue and husband, Kevin Hawley, Patrick Dietzel and Amber Baker; six great grandchildren, Alex and Griffin Going, Ian and Katie Sue Hawley, David and Kyle Dietzel, and many nieces and nephews. Those desiring to may direct memorial contributions to the Vassar First United Methodist Church Bell Tower Fund in Care of Bill Hall. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
