Died October 1, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Officiating will be Pastor Weatherly Verheist. Burial will be in the Thetford Township Cemetery. Helen Ammerman will lie in state at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, on Friday from 11:00am to 8:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Camping Scholarship Fund for the Youth of Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church or Crossroads Village Friends of the Carousel Endowment Fund. Helen Farrington was born February 12, 1916 in Flint, Michigan and lived all her life in Genesee County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris since 1932. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years, served on many committees, and loved mission work. She was a volunteer at the Crossroads Village. She married Carl R. Ammerman, September 29, 1936. She loved flowers, gardening, sewing and her home where she lived since 1950. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Susanne Dillman and husband Richard of Saginaw; a special grandson, Jon Dillman and Jill Burk of Saginaw; a special great grandson, Levi Dillman of Saginaw; a step-grandson, Mitchell Ker and sister Clara Brewer and husband Lloyd of Flint. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl on January 3, 2000; a baby daughter on August 15, 1943; a beloved granddaughter, Janeen Dillman on August 5, 1944; also preceding her in death were her parents J.W. and Lillie Farrington; sisters Leah Jane VanWagoner and Lilliemae Baden and brother Donald Farrington.
