Gregory “Wally” Lawrence Waldorf, age 55, died, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. A Funeral celebrating Gregory’s life will take place 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Service in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Spooner will officiate with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gregory was born July 22, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas and Melba (Effinger) Waldorf. He graduated with the class of 1980 from Genesee High School. Gregory worked in the family business for Waldorf & Son’s Inc. in Mt. Morris as a Salesman. He was a special uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Greg loved hunting Doe Valley in the Upper Peninsula and was a member of Bushwacker Deer Camp. He loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and his visits to the casino. Greg was a light to everyone, a ray of sunshine, the goof troop of the bunch, and the funny bone of the family. His final act of selflessness was saving lives with his organ donation through Gift of Life Michigan. He was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his mother: Melba Waldorf; two sisters and two brothers: Lorna Helmer, Roy and wife, Susie Little, Susie and husband Chuck Marshall, Daryl Little; brother-in-law: Dave Taylor; sister-in-law: Cindy Waldorf; special companion: Tiffany Cooper; 20 nieces and nephews: Bobby, Brian, Brandon, Garrett, Brittney, Chuck, Holly, Samantha, Chet, Blake, Nichole, David, Dan’l, Dustin, Tommy, Ronnie, Trenton, Travis, Marisa, Sara; many great nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece; and life time friend: Al Engleman. Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Waldorf, one brother, Thomas Waldorf II, and one sister, Delilah Taylor.
