Age 89, of Clio, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Cranberry Park Memory Care. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 4, 2020, at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, 9506 N. Dort Highway, Mt. Morris. Pastor Mark Dusseau will officiate with burial to follow. Grace's family will be present to receive friends from 11:30 am, until 1:45 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Grace's tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com. Grace was born on April 18, 1931, to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and Leone (Fuller)York. Grace married Walter S. Larson, on March 21, 1952, at Asbury United Methodist Church. They spent 60 wonderful years together until Walter's passing on July 31, 2012. Grace worked at AC Spark Plug for 28 years as a lineworker, but that was not her life. Her life consisted of God and her family. Grace's servitude to God shone through her actions. Grace was a member of Eastwood United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School for over 50 years. Grace cared for the sickly and infirmed and enjoyed cooking for the elderly and driving them to their appointments. Her door was always open, and coffee was always brewing. Grace loved to garden, and more times than not, if someone stopped to admire her flowers, they would go home with a bouquet. Bowling was one of Grace's pleasures in life, enjoying the camaraderie and traveling for nationals. Notable was their trip to Las Vegas, where they dressed up like saloon girls for a picture. Grace did her exercise every day by walking to and from work. She got her steps in. One year, she even made Walter take a ballroom dance class, and they won a trophy. Many of Grace's knitted blankets will be cherished and handed down for years to come. In her free time, Grace enjoyed camping, boating, and going to Disney World with her grandchildren. Her smile and tenacious love will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Grace leaves to cherish her memory her children: Jennie and husband, Steve Martinus, Stan Larson, Pamela Taylor-Hergert; grandchildren: Bethany and husband, DeWayne Kirkman, Brian and wife, Sara Martinus, Emily and husband, Jim Kinine, Holly and husband, Ray Fowler, Samantha and husband, Jeremy Drielick, Ashley and husband, Troy Baker, Maxwell and wife, Emily Hergert, Alex (Dwight) Hergert; great-grandchildren: Chloe and Connor Kirkman, Wesley, Aubury, and Mallory Martinus, Calder Kinine, Sydney Taylor, Lillian, Mitchel, and Mindy Drielick, Connor Hergert, and Elenore Hergert.
