Gordon Fischhaber

Gordon Alfred Fischhaber, age 76, of Millington, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, at his home with his family by his side. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Pastor David Somers to officiate with burial to follow at Millington Township Cemetery. Gordon's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gordon was born in Mt Morris, Michigan, on October 31, 1941, he is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Frank and Helen Christine (Summerfield) Fischhaber. Gordon worked on the production line at United Plastics in Vassar until retiring in the early 1980s. In his free time, Gordon enjoyed spending time with family and friends, rock collecting, taking vacations especially to Minnesota, and making jewelry. He was a long-time member of the Flint Rock and Gem Club. Left to cherish his memory are, nieces and nephews: Ruth Duncan, Sharon and husband, Nate Benmark, Jessica Duncan and fiancé, John Clark, Timothy Grierson, David Duncan, twins: Tom and Colleen Arnold, and Kristen and husband, Donald Hasha ;great-nephews: Hunter and William Benmark, and soon to be born, Derrek Clark; great-niece, Ladonna Arnold; sister-in-law - Minnie Fischhaber; special friends: Robert and wife, Loretta Adams, and Ruby Simmons; and many other family members, friends, church family, and the family dog, Gizmo. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Roselyn Arnold, Betty Jobson, and his brother Dale Fischhaber.
