Of Clio, age 85 died at home on November 28, 2010. Funeral service will be held 11:00am, Thursday at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, and on Thursday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be considered for American Diabetes Association or The North End Soup Kitchen. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gloria was born October 22, 1925 to Howard A. Sr. and Louise (Schumacher) Saxton in Chicago, Illinois. On April 14, 1945 she married Richard Montague and moved to Clio. Her three children, Richard D., Jeffrey and Nancy were born of this union. In early years Gloria was a homemaker. She was very involved in the Clio WomenAaas Club and was named MichiganAaas Clubwomen of the Year in 1968. She also accumulated many hours as a volunteer for the McLaren Hospital Auxiliary. In later years she worked and volunteered giving out personal needs at the North End Soup Kitchen. Her happiest memories were spent at the cottage in Interlochen with family and friends. She is survived by her loving children, Richard and wife Cathy, Nancy and husband Bob Curtis, daughter in law Rachel Montague. Grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Ron Metivier, Marcus Montague, Benjamin Curtis and Trevor Curtis. Step grandchildren, Patty and John Shear, Mike and Courtney Irish and Christy and Dave MacWebb and their families, special great-grandchild, Joshua Curtis, step great-grandchildren, Trevor and Cameron Metevier, brother, Howard A. Jr and wife Helen, special niece Marilou Saxton, and other nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffrey Montague in 2003.
