Of Vassar, age 73, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007, with her loving family at her side, at Covenant Harrison in Saginaw. \ \ Gloria was born January 31, 1934, in Saginaw the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Ruth (Allen) Lambert. She and Donald Hecht were united in marriage January 31, 1953, in Vassar. She enjoyed her family, children, and was a very loving grandma. She spent many years at St. Michaelas Lutheran Church and School in Richville as a volunteer where she loved working with children and was an active member of the Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed her many trips to Alaska visiting her family and loved cooking for her family with her special recipes. \ \ Surviving are, Donald, her husband of 54 years; son: Gregory (Jodey) Hecht of Vassar; daughter, Tina (Michael) Silvernail of Alaska; grandchildren: Melissia and Trish both of Washington State, Tom of Alaska, Jessica, Kelsey and Evan Hecht all of Vassar; brothers: Larry and Allen; sister: Virginia, sisters-in-law: Karen, Betty and Frances; and many nieces and nephews. \ \ Gloria was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Dean, parents, a brother and a sister. \ \ The family extends a special thank you to Karen for her love and care during this time. \ \ Funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Saturday February 24, 2007, at St. Michaelas Lutheran Church in Richville. Pastor Robert Gadeken and Pastor Wes Gillaspie will officiate with burial in St. Michaelas Cemetery. Gloriaas family will receive friends at St. Michaelas Lutheran Church on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions to St. Michaelas Lutheran Church and School. Envelopes are available at the church.
