Gerald Edison Templeton

Age 51, of Mt. Morris, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Spectrum Health Butterworth. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 15, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. John Montney to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Gerald’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.Gerald “Jerry” was born in Flint, on March 16, 1971, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon and Shirley (Nickles) Templeton. Jerry was a kind and gentle man and was loved by all who knew him. He loved people and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. Helping people was one of Jerry’s favorite things and he enjoyed tinkering with cars and fixing them for everyone. Jerry enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets and always had one in his pocket. He enjoyed taking a trip to Florida with his brother-in-law and spoke of it often. Jerry loved to be outside and enjoyed mowing the lawn or walking his dog, Toby. Music was his all-time favorite thing. He would sit all day and listen to the radio, classic rock was his favorite, especially the song, Fat Bottom Girls. Jerry had a sweet tooth and always had pudding or candy for all the kids. Jerry had a special bond with his nieces and nephews and he was known as Jer-Jer to them. He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish Gerald's memory are his mother, Shirley Templeton; siblings: Larry Templeton, Katherine Templeton, and Dwayne Morris, Daniel Templeton, Beth and husband, Larry Smock, Thomas Templeton, and Kelly Grotewold, Phillip and wife, Christine Templeton; 13 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Templeton; stepdad, Clifford Cook; grandparents; sister-in-law, Angela Templeton; and his wonderful dog, Buddy.
