Age 86, of Flint, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with family by his side. In accordance with his wishes, Gerald will be laid to rest at Mount Morris Cemetery. Gerald John Severn was born on July 20, 1938, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Archibald and Mary (LaVictorie) Severn. Educated locally, Gerald attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Mt. Morris High School. He then began working as a lineman at General Motors for over 30 years until his well-earned retirement in 1993. Gerald met and married the love of his life, Beverley Scigliano on June 25, 1960 at St. Francis in Flint, Michigan. Their marriage would be blessed with two beautiful children, to whom Gerald cherished most.
As a jack of all trades, Gerald could be found fixing everything around the house. He loved going to garage and rummage sales to find his next treasure. He also enjoyed watching Western films and going to the Flint Township Senior Center to play card games, especially Euchre. Most of all, Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 64 years: Beverley; his son: Tony Severn; his daughter: Dina and husband, Gregory King; his daughter-in-law: Barbara Severn; his five grandchildren: Ashley, McKenna, Andrea and husband, Kody, Kyle and partner, Jodie Daggett; his four great-grandchildren: Lyllian, Logan, Ava, Eli; and his sister; Evelyn King.
Gerald was preceded in passing by his parents; his siblings: Archibald, Geraldine, Margaret; and his furry companion: Benji.
