Of Flint, age 89, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, September 4, 2015, at the Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 N. Saginaw in Flint. Pastor Randy Schultz will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. George’s family will be present at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, to receive friends on Thursday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Friday morning, George will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to Our Savior Lutheran Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. George was born November 7, 1925, in Turner Valley Alberta, Canada, he is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Catherine (Wilson) Love. George proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force until his honorable discharge. George married Lois Bergey on May 24, 1947, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Sadly she preceded him in death on June 16, 2009. He worked for General Motors in Flint for 34 years, retiring in 1990; and was a member of UAW Local #598. In his free time, George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the Moose Lodge in Flint; fishing and camping in Lindsay Ontario, building and tinkering around the house, playing poker and was Flint’s reigning champion Euchre Player from 1987 to 2015. He also loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and completing crossword puzzles. Left to cherish his memory four children, Grant and wife Mary Love, Sherry Bachman, George and wife Sally Love and Wendy and husband Robert Meldrum; 7 grandchildren: Chris, Amy, Gregg, Michelle, Danielle, Samantha and Emma; 11 great-grandchildren: Keely, Asa, Keira, Gabe, Gwen, Grace, Myley, Zack, Daniel, Sofia and Jaxon; and many other family members and friends in the USA and Canada. George was preceded in death by his wife Lois, son Greg, son-in-law Bill Bachman and five brothers and one sister.
