Gary White

Gary "Bud" White, age 71, of Mt. Morris passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Jan Duce will officiate with burial to follow at Smith Hill Cemetery. Bud's family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Monday, Gary will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Richfield Church of the Nazarene or to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Gary "Bud" was born November 11, 1942, in Flint, the son of late Lawrence and Dorothy (Rolf) White. He graduated from Beecher High School, Class of 1963. He married Marilyn Diehl on September 15, 1973 at Clio, Michigan. Bud worked for Buick for 36 years before retiring in 2000 and was a member of UAW Local #599. Bud was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the University of Michigan and the Detroit Tigers. He was also a collector of many things including hats, watches and key chains. Gary is survived by his wife Marilyn; sister Joan (Ken) Troyer; mother-in-law and father-in-law Chester (Gladys) Diehl; brother-in-law Duane Diehl; sister-in-law Carla Diehl; special nieces Lauri and Lynn, nephews Larry, Scott and Craig and several great-nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lonny. Gary's family would like to thank all the staff and special caregivers at Cranberry Park Assisted Living in Clio.
