Of Clio, age 97, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 2, 2009, surrounded by his family. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Bishop Richard J. Treece will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11:00am to 8:00pm, and on Thursday from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Memorial donations may be considered to the Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Fred was born July 5, 1912, in North Carolina the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel and Prudence (Furr) Treece. He and Louise Huneycutt were united in marriage September 18, 1937 in Flint. Fred worked at AC Spark Plug before retiring in 1970. Fred leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Harold Treece, and George Treece, grandchildren, Richard (Lorena) Treece, Kelly (Scott) Bingham, Hal Treece, their mother, Sandy Lee Treece, Ronda (Jeff) Judd, Lori Lee Treece, Tina (John) Cotton, and her mother Lea Gartee, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, Christian, Kamron and grandad's special Polock Malic, and sister Maydell Tucker. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Treece, son Donald Treece, daughter in law Sandra Jo Treece, and eight brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pat, Bertha and Karen.
