Fred Mattes

Of Clio, age 76, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at his residence. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. FredAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Fred was born June 11, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Matilda (Weiss) Mattes. He and Patricia Beckman were united in marriage July 13, 1974 at St. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Fred worked for Buick Engineering for 23 years, retiring in 1987. Fred leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia; children, Richard (Leslie) Beckman, Kenneth (Kathy) Beckman, Debra (Tom) Wilcox, Rhonda (Peter) Bungart, Kim (Terry) Graham, Kerry (Mary Jo) Beckman and Wendy (Tom) Scharrer; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and special friends; Ed and Jonnie Merrow. Fred is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters; Eleanor, Catherine, Elizabeth and Mary.
