Esther Gonda

Esther Marie Gonda\ 1906-2007\ Of Vassar age 100, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw after a very brief illness. Esther is survived by a son, Matt Gonda of Vassar and a daughter, Dorothy Williams of Davison, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John and two daughters, Martha Buckley and Anna Scott, five brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Wilford, Harry, and Melvin Bolzman and five sisters, Ila Beck, Ruth (Gonda) Heather, Elsie (Stevens) Aymer, Jessie Bergman and Alice Katzinger. Esther was a member of the Holiness Missionary Church of Vassar and she set an example for others to follow in the way she lived her Christian Life. After the death of her daughter, Esther was home cared by her grandson, John Buckley and Andrea Sebert. A special thanks to John and Andrea. There will be a funeral service at Martins Funeral Home Vassar Chapel at 11:00am Tuesday, September 4, 2007, Rev. Mary Edgington officiating with burial in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Esther's family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Sunday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, and on Tuesday from10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. \
