Erma Martin

Age 94, died December 27, 2014 in her home. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 am Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Butch and Peggy Lynn Martin will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Tuesday December 30, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday at 10:00 am until time of service. Erma was born December 30, 1919 in Portia, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William M. and Jessie Lou (Boggs) Ballard. She married Rev. Herman Martin on December 24, 1939, sadly he preceded her in death on October 22, 1997. Erma was a kind, sweet, and loving Wife, mother, and grandmother. She belonged to Deliverance Tabernacle and Order of the Eastern Stars Post 457. She is survived by five children: Thomas and wife Carol Martin, Freddie Martin, Butch and wife Peggy Lynn Martin, Sharon Cheney, and Michael and wife Lorna Martin, 11 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman, eight sisters: Pearl Ballard, Lola Ballard, Anne Ballard, Estel Ballard, Jennie Ballard, Clara Ballard, Minnie Ballard, Juanita Ballard, half brother Dolph Ballard and half sister Duchcie Ballard, one great-great grandson.
