Elwyn "El" Armond Hartwick, age 82, of Mayville died Sunday, November 6, 2016, at home on his farm surrounded by his wife and children by his side. A Memorial Mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 315 W Ohmer Rd., Mayville, Michigan, on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 10:00 am. Rev. Fr. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. In accordance with Elwyn’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Percheron Horse Association of America Scholarship Fund. Envelopes are available at the church. Elwyn was born August 25, 1934, in Sanilac County, Michigan, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Clayton and Virginia Pearl (Ball) Hartwick. He married Antoinette B. Hauger. on September 29, 1979, in Cass City. Elwyn worked as a farmer, truck driver and Horseman. In his free time, he and Antoinette enjoyed traveling around showing their Percheron Horses. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville, a member of Percheron Breeders Association of Michigan, Percheron Horse Association of Michigan and the Percheron Horse Association of America, and a member of a Teamster Union. Left to cherish his memory are, his wife Antoinette; 7 children: Randy Hartwick, Richard (Donna) Hartwick, Robin (Gregg) Geesey, Marie (Bobby) Pfaff-Taylor, Jacqueline (Roger) Wilcox, Julia (Jeff) Wetherford, and Suzanne (Jeff) Harwood; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Roger (Norma) Hartwick: and many other family members and friends. Elwyn was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Ryan Hartwick, and his great-granddaughter Alexis Smith.
