Elena V. Pitek

Age 97, of Flint, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at The Pines of Burton Assisted Living. Elena's family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. A graveside prayer will take place at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:30 pm, Rev John Montney to officiate. Elena was born in Hanceville, Alabama, on March 15, 1923, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester and Pearl (Gamble) Whitfield. She married the love of her life, Edward Pitek, on November 16, 1946. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 11, 2012. Elena worked production for General Motors for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. Left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews, and friends at The Pines of Burton. Elena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings.
