Edward Janos

Age 71, died Friday, January 12, 2018, surrounded by his family. The funeral celebrating Ed’s life will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar. Pastor Tom Knight will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the choice of the contributor. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ed was born October 27, 1946, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Olga (Mastaler) Janos. He married the love of his life, Shirley Kintner on June 30, 1978. Ed worked as a stockman at General Motors for 39 years until retiring in 1997. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and talking on the phone with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Shirley; two children: Phillip Janos and Katrina (Harold) Lineske; five grandchildren: Michelle, Mitchell, Katrina, Jacklynn and Kirsten; 15 great-grandchildren: Becca, Alyssa, Andrew, Farah, Jacob, Kristina, Kaylee, Alex, Kira, Kendal, Liberty, Joey, Grace, Karsen and Aralyn; and sister: Beverly Lasky. He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Norrington and brother Al Janos.
