Dr. Marion Gamble Dunn passed away peacefully, at her home, with family by her side on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at the age of 72. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Cremation and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Marion's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, 2020, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturday, March 21, 2020, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimers Association or Mott Children's Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Marion was born Marion Celestial Davis on January 3, 1948, in Gabbettiville, Georgia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doris and Willie Mae (Davis) Gamble. As a young child, Marion's family would move to Flint, where she was educated locally, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School. Marion would continue her education at Michigan State University for her undergraduate degree, Wayne State University, for her graduate degree, and Michigan State University for her doctorate. Marion met the love of her life, David Dunn, at Henry Ford Hospital, and the two were united in marriage in 1978. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 2014. Marion worked in the medical field as both a nurse and psychiatrist throughout Michigan and Ohio. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, writing, and attending performing arts events. Marion was a board member at Mott Children's Hospital. She produced and hosted local television shows, including The Children's Round Table and The Herbal Medicine Show. Marion leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Lisa Dunn and Alyse Dunn; parents: Doris and Willie Mae Dunn; eight siblings: Ernest Ellison, Ronald Gamble, Donald Gamble, Melinda Gaither, Marcus Gamble, Wendell Gamble, Wanda Gamble-Mooiman, and Laronda Honeycutt, and Gene; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her brother, Junior (Anthony) Gamble. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marion's caregivers, who have been like family: Sylvia Villas and her daughter, Mari; Ginny, and LaVon Johnson.
