Age 83, of Flint, died May 19, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will take place on Monday, May 23, 2016, at 11:00 am at Great Lakes Baptist Temple in Grand Blanc. Pastor Ed Mohr will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Grand Blanc, on Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and at church on Monday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to family to be used for service projects done in her honor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Dorothy was born June 8, 1932, in Flint to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Estella (Henderson) Jansen. She graduated from Flint Northern with the class of 1951. She and Ernest Boegner were united in marriage on November 8, 1952, in Flint. She worked for the Flint Board of Education for 18 years as a teachers aid before retiring in 1993. She was a long-time member of Great Lakes Baptist Temple in Grand Blanc. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, singing, playing her harmonica and visiting with family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carla and husband, Ed Perez, Donna and husband, Chris Reed, Dan and wife, Paula Boegner, Lisa and husband, Kevin Godfrey, Linda and husband, Paul Mohr; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Jonathan, Joshua, Zachary, Danielle, Tyler, Benjamin, Hannah, Josh, Audrey, Cooper, and Colston; 1 great-grandson, Greyson; sister Doris Janes, several in-laws, many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Boegner, her parents, sister Reva Irene, brothers, Robert, Elmer, and Jack. The family would like to thank Life Choices Hospice of Georgia and Compassus Hospice of Michigan.
