Doris was born in Detroit on July 20, 1950, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Marjorie (Aikens) Huggler. Educated locally, she attended Genesee High School and graduated with the Class of 1968. Doris met her beloved Billy Hipps in High school. The two dated fell in love and were united in marriage on September 13, 1969. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters. Sadly, Bill preceded her in death on April 10, 2009. She has now been reunited with him on their anniversary and her family is sure she cannot be happier. Doris worked as a secretary for Genesee Township until her retirement in 2018. Shortly after retiring, Doris with her two best friends, Debbie and Craig, took a wonderful vacation to Hawaii. That was one of her favorite memories with them and she spoke about it often. Doris loved Jesus and is happy to be spending eternity with Him. Camping was one of her favorite pastimes. She had a camper and spent many summers in her home away from home. To say Doris had the best smile would be an understatement. She would light up any room she walked into, and she sparkled from the moment she arrived. Doris had a knack for decorating and loved to shop and use her skills to make her home look the very best. Not only did she love to shop for decorations, but she also loved shoes and shopping for new ones. She had over 75 pairs. Doris enjoyed planting flowers and took pride in her beautiful yard with her hot pink flowers. She didn’t care what kind, as long as they were hot pink. Doris loved her family with all her heart. She never missed any of her children's or grandchildren’s sports activities, no matter how far or what the weather, they could always count on her to be there cheering them on. Not only was she there, but she brought all the team snacks every time. She rarely complained about anything. She was the kindest soul you could ever come into contact with, and she will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care they took of their mother.

Left to cherish Doris' memory are her devoted, beloved daughters: Shannon and husband, Jasan Bryan, Stacy and husband, Tom Wilson; a niece she raised as a daughter, Angel Rehil; the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Maddy, Ally, Connor, Ava; sister: Bonnie and husband, Dave Horsfield; brothers and sisters-in-law: Don and wife, Karen, Gary, Ron; dearest friend and unbiological sister, Debbie Carlton; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents; and mother-in-law, Bernice Driskell.
