Dorean Michael

Dorean Ruth (Cookenmaster) Michael, 92, passed quietly away December 1, 2012, in Braden, Florida. She grew up in Fairgrove, Michigan, but lived much of her life in Florida, including many years in Sun City Center. A pleasant and kind lady with an adventurous spirit, she was loved by her family and friends. Her five brothers and sisters, her loving husband of over 56 years, Frank Michael and son, Buddy Spencer, preceded her in death. During World War II she served in the Woman's Army Air Force as a driver, then returned to Michigan to operate roller skating rinks. She taught numerous classes in arts and crafts, loved to travel, camp and was active in teaching square dancing while her husband, Frank called the dances. She is survived by nieces and nephews in Florida, Michigan and Arizona. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11:00am at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with graveside military honors conduct by the Fairgrove VFW Post.
