Age 84, of Wisner Township died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his home in Fairgrove. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at the Wisner United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jackie Raineri officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to the Wounded Warriors Foundation or the National Parkinson Foundation. Mr. Mowry was born June 3, 1931 in Midland County. Donald is the son of the late Luman and the late Lena Germaine (Cosens) Mowry. Donald married Sally Bosley on March 3, 1951. Donald was a graduate of Fairgrove High School Class of 1949. He served in the Army from 3/18/1953 to 3/17/1955 during the Korean War. Donald went on to attend trade school to become an Electrician, and for the majority of his career he was employed by and retired from Fisher Body 1, in Flint Michigan. He also worked as a long time cash crop farmer, and for Defoe Ship Building Company in Bay City, Michigan. Donald has remained active in his community by being a member of the Rotary club in Akron, Fairgrove VFW men’s auxiliary, the Caro Lions Club. He is survived by his wife; Sally (Bosley) Mowry, four children; Jole’ Mowry and significant other Doug Good, Kelly Graham, Brent and wife Denise Mowry, Brooke and wife Cathie Mowry, brother; Larry and wife Bernice Mowry, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, sister’s-in-law; Maxine Mowry, Barbara Pachey and husband Julius, Jannet Turner, and Diane Hahn. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jay Mowry, brother’s-in-law and sister’s-in-law; Ronald Hahn, James Turner, Ron and Sue Eager. Burial of cremated remains will be in Wisner Township Cemetery.
